„Measure - Flock - Measure”
|
 |
Using the working title „M-F-M“ (Measure-Flock-Measure),
SEIBOLD-Messtechnik is developping a new
generation of dosing units, self-adjusting to their surrounding
conditions.

Until now, reduction of filterable and setteable solids in various waters,
as well as elimination of heavy metals from industrial sewage, primarily were
based on chemical and mechanical proceedings that were widely used as
stand-alone applications.
Many chemical methods use flocculants and precipitants, that are selected in
laborious testing and then are optimised for a certain application. Among
mechanical treatment, lamella seperators, centrifuges and cyclones are the
options most used.
|
Combining the two generic methods looks promising and offers various advantages.
Developing these advantages for the customer´s value is the committment of
project "M-F-M" of SEIBOLD-Messtechnik. Optimisation of treatment of wastwater
is based on measurement values from the inlet of the application. The example
of turbidity easily shows, that metered addition of flocculants is not only
depending on turbidity itself, but also on the flow rate in a specific time.
Controlling dosage subject to flow rate and sludge load is one of the
challenging applications for "M-F-M".
For monitoring the performance of the system, additional measurement is
performed after treatment. These results are used for subsequent control of
the application and the system is virtually self-optimising.
