Static Mixers
|
 |
For mixture of different media SEIBOLD-Messtechnik has developed particular
static mixers, standing out
due to extremly easy, robust and effective design. The flow of liquids is
repeatedly divided and led against
each other in order to utilise the turbulence coming into existence optimised
for mixture of liquid/liquid or
liquid/gaseous media.

With many static mixers available besides the level of mixture, a decrease in
pressure resulting from resistance caused by generation of required turbulences,
is one of the key effects leading to problems in various applications.
The new wingshovels developed by SEIBOLD-Messtechnik and their characteristic
nature this challenge is a thing of the past. One of many positive findings
of our numerous installations so far is, that decrease in pressure can be kept
at a comparatively low level of about 0.5 bar by the use of the new static mixers.
Currently static mixers of dimensions from DN50 to
|
DN400 are applied in various applications and reliability of the new concept is
proven by the results we received.
Applications of interest are for example neutralisation of pH-value by the use of
CO2 and flocculation of suspended substances in construction waste waters. When
performing neutralisation of constructions waste waters CO2 is added to the process
either directly in a tube, or at inflow to the neutralisation basin after the bent
pipe. Neutralisation is possible at minimal space and up to 140 l/s. Another
effective application for our new static mixers is

flocculation of construction waste waters. Sedimentation of suspended substances can
be accelerated through increasing impact of flocculation by establishing an optimal
mixture of flocculant and wast water.
A hands on example: The construction site of dumping ground Taglesberg at Wienerwald
invited us to treat waste water with very high proportion of solid contents
(filtratable substances > 17000 mg/l!). Additional diffiulties were
caused by the small size of particles
(< 50 µm). In cooperation with the team
around Mr. Dipl.Ing. Martin Taborsky we set up a cascade of static mixers. Within
a short period of time satisfying results were achieved.
|
Another aspect, why we are proud on this success, is the fact that various
prominent companies in the field of plant construction and production of
flocculants were not able to deliver a comparable solution.
