Operating a
watercourse protection facility
is an easy thing to do when using equipment by SEIBOLD-Messtechnik.
Beyond reducing work on site and maintenance to a minimum, SEIBOLD-Messtechnik
offers state-of-the-art technology in order to provide 24x7 access to all data
monitored and recorded during ongoing operation via the internet.
Using GPRS/GSM telecommunication tools allows for continuously transferring
all relevant data to a secure web-server efficiently and at low cost. When
importing information into a database, all recorded data is checked for
consistency and completness. All control parameters and general performance
of a facility is automatically analysed using a specialised application developed
by SEIBOLD-Messtechnik.
In case of irregularities or discrepancies the SEIBOLD service team is notified
accordingly. Our specialists will analyse the data and, if required, can offer
possible solutions to the customer within a short period of time. Monitoring
the performance of all facilities further allows for steady optimisation
in close cooperation and coordination with the operators.
All information is securely stored on a high-secure web server which also provides
backup for all data recorded. Having username and password available, customers
can access all information of their facility the internet at any time.
All relevant data can be displayed in tables and visualised in significant
charts for any period of time for further analysis. By just clicking the
appropriate icons, various reports can be generated for documentation purposes
or filed for local authorities.

In all watercourse protection facilities the pH-value of the water to be
treated is checked two to three times while passing the facility, namely at
inflow, for control and before draining.
Neutralisation by means of dosation of CO2 is performed in order to preserve
the threshold values determined by local authorities.

Besides pH-value, the flow rate is an important measure for operating watercourse
protection facilities. Flow rate can be measured by the use of supersonic sensors
installed in a tube, or by the use of an inductive flow rate sensor in combination
with an overfall weir. The corresponding measurement signal is monitored and
recorded in order to analyse performance of the facility.
